The Bonfire Series was created to celebrate the “Outpost Attitude” by promoting fishing, diving, adventure, art, education, and conservation. Each Festival creates a unique ocean-themed sculpture inspired by the destination and its fishery. These “Larger than Life” works of art are crafted by local artist to promote marine arts and conservation. The Bonfire Festival is designed around a fishing tournament, but includes many activities, which help raise money for education and conservation through the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. In Islamorada, The Blazing Mako Festival proceeds will be donated to Nova Southeastern University Scholarship Fund through the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation.
The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation funds inspired scientific research and innovative educational programs to encourage conservation and best management practices for sustainable marine environments. The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation will help ensure that future generations can enjoy and benefit from a naturally balanced marine ecosystem where fish and other wildlife flourish. www.guyharvey.com
